Hello everyone,
Presentations will happen this Wednesday the 1st of June, at 9.30am held in the gallery.
We will have 15mins to settle in and work out our presentation order.
So we will begin presentations at 9.45am sharp
You will need to have your blog up to date, for me to view your design progression to reach your final outcome, which is the full working prototype.
The 3 things you will need to bring to present your furniture are:
-Chair prototype
-Blog folio uploaded for me to reference
-Yourself
Things to cover in presentation:
-background inspiration/references
-material discovery
-talk about what you learnt, and what didn't work..
-pull apart or put together chair (I would prefer you to assemble the chair, but if your assemble time is too slow, then I dont want it to reduce your presentation time, unless you can do both at the same time!
-I will then be sitting on your chair to evaluate.
We should be done within 2.5-3h, so everyone is to stay and learn from your fellow students presentations, and are not allowed to leave until everyone has presented.
It will be a fun casual day of presentations, though I would like us to have a level of professionalism, to practice how we would present a chair to a real client in the real world.
The more you can justify and sell your design, the better. So the more information you want to include the better. Things like:
-assemble time?
-material choice, in relation the the environment, quality and product longevity?
-energy usage to fabricate?
-mix of materials and logistics to assemble?
Once the presentation is over, you will leave your chair with is, and have to return on Monday the 6th to pickup your chair.
Make sure your name, blog address, and student number is attached to your chair.
Goodluck and I look forward to seeing your final working prototype.
Regards,
